Pulp Portraits

Pulp Fiction, often associated with the Quentin Tarantino film, refers to an American literary genre of what many think of as detective stories that were popular from the 1920’s until the 1950’s.  Magazines with stories featuring gangsters of the criminal underworld and detectives clad in long overcoats and fedora hats were adorned covers illustrated by vibrant colors which created an feeling of suspense and danger.  Pulp Portraits creates a colorful vintage style that mimics the melodrama of these stories bringing it not only to the mood of the crime novel but also in stories I various cultural settings.
