Yi Wen is a photographer currently based in Thailand.  His figurative photography has brought him to Japan and the north east US.

“Though my photography I have attempted to capture the essence of the allure of the human form as it has been captured in art from the dawn of ancient culture until contemporary times.   In my photographs I attempt to capture the essence of the beauty of the human form as seen in classical art.   Inspiration is taken from sculpture of ancient Greece and Rome to paintings of the baroque and renaissance.  Capturing the spirit of the art deco movement, such as that of the sculptor, Paul Manslip, and surrealism is another goal of my work.

Beyond the realms of form, I try to capture elements that expand culture such as music, dance, fashion and how people relate to their environments.   Through photography, I capture people living and celebrating their lives across diverse settings and regions of the world.”

This website is divided into two parts, one being figurative photography which features nude figures and non-nude which includes fashion, music and dance both in and out of the studio.
